ruh-roh.... I think I might be in the mood for updating this thing again.... after many, many moons, I will strive to actually give you a post worthy of your time.
HERE WE GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I've decided that instead of trying to stick with one topic, I'm going to write down whatever I want the world to know.
LIGHTS!
CAMERA!
aaaacctioonnnnnn........................

1. If you have never seen the movie Cats Don't Dance, go watch it right at this moment on YouTube (the entire movie is there[WHOOPS illegal?.... too bad!] )
It is definitely one of my favorite cartoon movies from my childhood (like I'm not still a child or something, heh). It's just a fun cartoon, not expected to become a big success, but just something out there simple and sweet.
It is good.

2. I've recently decided that I really like Ben Folds. In fact, I'm going to listen to him right now. I like the piano in his songs, & I like his songs.... I also like Five For Fighting.

3. In fact, I really like Sufjan Stevens, too. He was born in MI (brownie points), & has a really recognizable voice, & has a whole album about Michigan (currently one of my favorite albums in general), & he is a musical genius. =]

4. Pandora is great. Especially the itouch app. I have a QuickMix with many wonderful stations on it: "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) - Josh Groban" radio ; Josh Groban radio ; Death Cab For Cutie radio ; Regina Spektor radio ; Sufjan Stevens radio ; & Alan Menken radio.
Ahhhhh.
Amazing.

5. You know, if there's someone, possibly suffering from road rage, tailgating you or in some other way dangerously trying to overtake you, don't block him. Seriously. Are you there to teach him a lesson? No. You are trying to get from A to B safely. Swallow your pride. Let him pass. The end.

6. This SHIFT KEY is being SOOO annoying.
I also feel dyslexic while typing.

7. Okay, I just listened (on Pandora) to an Ingrid Michaelson song called Give Up, and now a song from Postal Service is playing, & the name of the album its on is called Give Up.

?

8. I'm wearing an American Eagle sweater right now, & as I'm looking at my hands I feel ridiculously like a girl from my school who is the epitome of a popular girl, and it is making me uncomfortable... oh well, I love the sweater.

9. So I really want to go see the movie 9. It's an animation but not meant for kids, because there's some scary content in it, apparently....

10. AHH!! Josh Groban is on Pandora right now, OH MY WORD, THANK YOU JESUS FOR VOICES!!!! LIKE JOSH GROBAN'S!!!!! He is my favorite singer in the WORLD.
I am SUCH a sucker for good voices.... gahhhh =]

11. Returning to 9, it's a full-length movie inspired by a short the director made, & Tim Burton saw it and pretty much told him to make it a movie. I saw the short, and it's pretty interesting. I've heard reviews about it, and apparently the voices in the movie (coincidentally, 9 is voiced by Elijah Wood) totally ruin it; the short was silent, & I really liked that about it. So, we'll see how that goes. I might not even see it for a while.... anybody want to go with me sometime?

13. I wish I hadn't made my blog name be "Her Ever-Whirring Mind" and my URL be everwhirringmind.blogspot.com because, well, I don't really like it that much anymore.... Another reason, my mind really isn't "ever-whirring," actually it seemed kind of clogged most of the time.

14. Ugh. I want to live.

15. Listen to 100 Years by Five For Fighting.

16. I'm going to be 16 in April.... That is SO WEIRD to me, becuause it's making me realize that I'm growing up. I remember when I was 11/12/13 I used to think 15 was the best age, & I would be really cool then and life would be so much better. Nothing feels radically different, though. Kind of a bummer.... Oh well. I'm going to feel like an old woman when I'm 16. I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to it, actually. I really want 15 to be my... I don't know... my best year, my memorable year, my magical year. *shrug*

17. Admit you didn't notice I skipped 12. Just admit it.

18. Life isn't fair. Get used to it.

19. Life.

20. Life is so full of...

everything.

The more I think about it, the more incomprehensible it is to me. There are computers, which are little less than magic to those of us who don't know the anatomy of them. Our whole world runs on them; if all types of computers were to crash, our world would collapse like a skyscraper with its foundation removed suddenly.
But then, there's the...

world.

Another

Here's another unfinished thought. I don't feel like completing it.

I am a girl. A girl, trying to understand things that seem far beyond her reach of comprehension.
I have been given the realization that my situation is not unique. It is, in fact, a situation of little importance compared to what less fortunate, yet better deserving, humans are presented with.
Which brings me to a large portion of my situation to begin with.
Why do I care so much?
What brings me to this point?

Forgotten Draft

So, I was looking through my blog & I realized I had written this (I don't really remember doing so), and I decided I might as well post it, seeing as it's got nothing better to do.
(btw, it's two different poems)

I once made a bracelet
It was colorful and bright
It got old and faded
On my wrist it's too tight.

One day I found myself hit by a freight train
And the headlight seemed to have blinded me
I wondered around confused where to go
And I gathered with the masses
But to no avail, because I left myself at the trainwreck
I'm going back to find it
And home

Glowing Monkeys in Japan

Today is May 28th, 2009.

After today, I will never be able to say that again. I'll be able to look back and remember this day, but what will I remember?

..Is there anything worth remembering about today?
Not for me.
For me, today is the empty pasture blending into the barren sky. Today is the movement of the second hand running around aimlessly in circles. Today is the person you walked by today that you didn't even see, and never will for the rest of your life. Today is a progression of the crevasses soon to be carved into my youth and the silver threads to be sewn into the walls of my upstairs.
But, that's just me.
This day will be chiseled into minds.
"Today is the day ...

I married the love of my life."

I gave birth to my wonderful child."

I finally filed for a divorce."

I was told my toddler isn't going to make it."

Today will grant an epiphany, today will damage a brain.
It will will wreck a car, and grow a flower.
Today is memorable, forgettable.
Powerful, weak.
Present
past.

It's finally time, time for our victory match
Assembled to be, just one left turn
The matchbox tires spin out on the welcome mat
And firemen are tired men, who can't put out the rug burn

You should listen to A Penny Loafer Saved Is a Penny Loafer Earned by Relient K. That song makes me happy.

Anyway

I don't know.. I'm feeling a little alone right now. I'm not really sure why.... I'm just a little down right now =[

I want to go somewhere else. Really far away.

Hm.

Kind of weird,

My birthday's tomorrow.

Happy birthday Emily.

Well, there's nothing left to say.

Today I am . . . ?

What will I be today? I sit wondering, staring at the lacking title.

A teenage girl. Just a girl, swimming through the glop of adolescence. No, that's what I am every day.

A candle. Slowly burning, giving insufficient light and setting fingers of the weak-minded ablaze, until I slowly putter out into nonexistence. No, I don't think I want to be that today.

A Sim. Created for the sole purpose of being controlled under a cruel and underdeveloped mind ruling over my family in a tyranny that gives the dictator a pleasure not unlike a disease, slowly stealing all the time and energry from its host. No, I hardly want to believe that of my life.

A morning glory. A flower, closed until the dawn of a new day, when I unfold into a beautiful visual song that I sing for anyone to hear, rejoicing in the fresh start of a new day. No, I am unequivocally and unmistakably not the type who sings out the glories of early morning.

A student. Hardworking and willing to do the work set out for me that enables me to better grasp the subject of which I is learning. ..Are you kidding me?

I am none of these today.

But what am I?

My fingers search listlessly over each letter on my keyboard, looking at least for a syllable- a starting letter- to describe what I am.

I am burdened to the point of claustrophobia over this. The neutral tan walls surrounding my text give me hardly any room to breath, as each letter I press builds up the strength to push down one more line for my ponderings.

What if no one truly knows what I am? Is there no one I could go to for the answer?
Is there no decrepit old man awaiting my arrival at the top of a mountain, holding the answer to my life?

I am becoming desperate. What of Google? Surely not only can it find every other answer in life, but multiple answers so you can choose what best fits your world view. But the results are only riddles, and the answers are but simple and childish answers.

What am I today?

Brief Starshine on a Stained Corporeality

Since I have absolutely everything to do right now and the time to do it is slowly falling through the fingers of my allegorical mentality, I decided to take a few minutes and update.

Wow, it's been a while... I'll try to include everything worth talking about that's happened so far.

On December... 13th, I think it was? I, along with my alter-egoian chum Gwen, went to the homeschool winter formal. I had tons of jollity there, and I'm really tickled pink that I was able to go. I actually didn't attend to my own school's formal, merely because it was really not very appealing.

On the 19th, winter break officially began. But that day was a snow day, because Mr. Swoboda said there was going to be. He is the fellow who hasn't misadumbrated a snow day for the past score and five years. Snow days are glorious things.

On the 25th, the much anticipated best holiday of the year arrived, and along with it a great bounty of presents and a 50 inch telly. Needless to say, my family was quite jubilant over this gratuity.

And now, I am slowly squandering my ever-corroding supply of educationless diurnal courses via las comuptadoras y leer novelas y jafngildir kostir, lítill munur. How dwaas of me.

But then, سَهْل الكَسْر، وَسيم، أنيق are fallegur in the suvi as long as the honkbal doesn't run amokki jooksma.

Oh, how I zamilovanost translate.reference.com and all that that implies.

jäähyväiset! That's Finnish for adieu!

If you can't tell, I'm in a slightly sundry frame of mind.

I do enjoy my appellation for this post though. I thought of it after reading the title of a movie and thinking of the opposite of it... now it fits quite appropriately to my life, wouldn't you say?

-_- *sigh* I am frazzled.

Yesterday was fun.

I, with my mom and pop's permission, skipped half a day of school! I didn't skip the whole day because I had a math quiz 3rd hour.

But after 3rd hour, Tori picked me up and we visited KAT! I LOVED seeing everyone again, it made we want to become homeschooled every Monday.

I was able to sit in Mr G's older Choir class and Drama class, and I loved being able to experience that. It felt like last year again, except that last year was decades ago.

I'm planning on going to the KAT performence on the 11th, and I'm SOOO excited to see Rose of Treason on Friday and Saturday!!!

Well, this has been a short post...
until next time!!

Oh Alarm Clock, where art thou?

So, school starts at 7:50

Guess when I woke up yesterday?

Yep, you got it, 7:50.

ehhhhhhhhhh....

It was so freaky. I just laid there for a couple seconds waiting to wake up. Then I realized that kinda wasn't going to happen.

I woke up Dad (because I figured he could get me there the fastest) and we rushed over to the school. I went to my grade office and amazingly they gave me a note excusing my tardiness, but apparently Mr. Armitage didn't like it, cause he was like, shaking his head and stuff when he was reading it. Man, he was in such a bad mood that day. He kept going on about how horrible we are, and like, only 12 out of 26 people did the homework he had assigned us, which is a good reason to be mad. But he kept talking about how he can't be expected to teach us stuff when we don't turn in homework and we're not on time, and how we're totally wasting his time, when, you'll notice, he kept wasting his own time by lecturing us on the wrong stuff as opposed to Chemistry.
Did I ever say he was my favorite teacher? Ha, ha, well just kidding. If he hadn't gone on about it I probably wouldn't have cried, like I didn't go all out but he was really pushing it. I didn't fully recover from the risk of crying till like 3rd hour.

The rest of the day was just long. 6th and 7th hour were shortened because we had a pep assembly. We fought or nemesis, Portage Central, last night. I didn't go because I was already planning on sleeping over at a friend's house.
Hmmmm I wonder if we won or not... I should probably find out

Buhbye!

Anne's wedding and my thoughts on the event

Yesterday, one of the most beautiful things happened! Two people claimed undying love for each other, and intertwined their souls.

Oh, I'm happy!!!

The amazing Anne Stowe married Mr. Mike popped-up-out-of-nowhere Carr. :-D

The wedding was fun, I'm so glad I was able to be there! I went with the briefly reunited Tori and Peter. :-)

After the reunion during the meal, Tori and Pete were put with 3 newly married couple... hehe. I was at the table with Bethany, Arianna and Zach Lutes, Whitney Dennison, and Josh Moxon (who never actually sat down, he was taking pictures the whole time). It was lots of fun, and made me realized once again how much I miss homeschoolers!!!

I actually am seriously considering skipping school on some future Thursday to go to HPA rehearsal... hopefully soon! Or maybe they'll have to close school on a Thursday because of a construction error or the weather or something...!

On a different note, guess what came the other day at school for me! My school picture CD... FINALLY!

CHEESE ^-^

Good Morning, Sunshine!

I think that yesterday was one of the best days of the year concerning school.

Though Chemistry and History were normal, in Algebra we simply went over the quiz from the other day (I got a B, and my class has the highest grade average out of the other three Mrs. Smith teaches- B+) and had the rest of the hour to ourselves.
I read the book we are assigned for Honors English: Life of Pi. Yeah, sounds promising, right? Actually it is fairly interesting. It's extremely well-written, of course. I've already passed the point where Mrs. Lindsay said we could stop at for now.

Anyway, in Design we had a substitute, so naturally we didn't learn anything. We just shaded something from a previous project assigned the other day.

In English we just made a giant "flashcard" of a word, drew a picture of it and wrote a sentence using the word. I had "demeanor." Fun, right? But it was an easy hour all the same.

In Health we listened to a guest speaker talk about The Ark, a place where kids can go if they can't stand to stay in their house anymore (because of fighting, etc)

And in Spanish we didn't do any Spanish at all, because we cleared out the cafeteria for the Homecoming dance. After we cleared that out there was a pep assembly (oh joy), which was so exhilarating. At least we didn't have to do any Spanish!

The best part? I don't think I have any homework. I need to double check, but even if I do have some, it'll be, like, a microscopic amount. :-)

HAPPYNESS!

O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

You have set your glory
above the heavens.

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

the birds of the air,

and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Week... um... is it 3?

It felt like this week flew by!

My week has been alright. Really tiring, though. And, to top it off, I'm coming down with something. I have I really bad cough and I just feel lousy.

I am not looking forward to doing homework.

I would write more, but I'm really not feeling well, I just need to go lie down....

Please pray for me!!

Week 2!

Well, I have survived my first full week, Monday through Friday, 8 to 3:00, of being public schooled. Pretty exciting... woohoo

I'll try to write down everything I can, but I honestly can't remember much.

Freshmen's homecoming US city was Juno, Alaska, but since nobody actually knew anything about Juno, Alaska, and they just liked it because of the recent movie called Juno, it was changed to Dallas, Texas.

I didn't get in Bye Bye Birdie. I'm pretty bummed about it, but it's alright; that means that I can start piano lessons, and I found out that I could do crew for BBB.
Besides, apparently freshman don't usually get in. There's always next year!

Homework hasn't been to hard yet. I have an average of about 30-45 minutes a day for all my classes. And really, the only classes I get homework for are Chemistry and Algebra, though I have two biggish papers for English and History.

For History I'm writing an essay on Levi Strauss and the invention of the blue jean. I figured that would be an easy one, because we use jeans everyday now, and they had obvious uses way back then. Did you know that the actual way they were invented is lost to the world? It burned up with the SanFran earthquake.

I should probably go now, even though I don't have much homework, I still need to what little amount that I have :-(

I've survived the first week of PNHS!

Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been updating... first week was pretty exhausting! I've been having to get up at 6am each day, as opposed to the usual 9-10am. Yeah. Huge change.

First day, Tuesday, there weren't any classes, but we got to check out all the clubs and stuff. It was only a half day.

The next day the real classes started, but we didn't actually cover anything, all the teachers just gave the rules of their classes, etc.

Since you're all probably curious, I'll give y'all the low-down on the teaches, yo (ok, I'm in weekend mode right now, please excuse the random bursts of abnormal word choices)

I'll give you the info on the teachers/classes in order of my schedule:

Chemistry, 1st hour: Believe it or not, this is actually my favorite class. My teacher, Mr. Armitage, is the funnest one in the whole day. Get this, to start off first day, he was like "I can teach you how to do... this" and lit his desk on fire. Then he put it out and there was no sign of damage to the desk. "But I'm not allowed to." It was very fun. And at the end of the class he took a huge trash can with a hole cut out in the bottom and a plastic bag-like thing that snaps back when you pull it, and filled the trash can with fog from a fog machine and shot it, making awesome rings of fog shoot out. It was super powerful, he aimed at a stack of papers made them fall over. Then he was like "let's see if I can get it across the room" and he shot it right at my face, and it totally took me by surprise. It was like "WHOOSH!"
Anyway, that was Chem! :-)

History, 2nd hour: History is alright, Mrs. Palmer's room is way too colorful for 2nd hour though. Plus she's really perky. Anyway, there really isn't much to say about this class. We're studying modern American history, from the Industrial Revolution to the present.

Algebra, 3r hour: Again, this class is alright. Mrs. Smith is nice, thank goodness. Bur actually, I don't think I'm going to be doing that badly in this class. Though we didn't do anything math-related on the first day, yesterday we did some math problems. And, though I knowit sounds incredibly nerdy (or homeschooler, take your pick), I actually enjoyed do math again. I do kinda like math that I understand fully....
Anyways, on to

Design, 4th hour: Design is actually in the middle school, on the other side of the parking lot. Which is fine now, but I'm not so hyped about that come winter-time. Anywho, the actual class is pretty fun, but it's more the technical stuff about art, learning names of stuff and things like that. Sometimes I wish that I had taken Dramatics, because I really miss Drama. But, I do like Design, too.

Honors English, 5th hour: Melissa's in this one! It's pretty fun I like it. Have you heard of Split-Hand Disease? It's when a person has unusual hands, such as missing a finger or something. Well, my teacher has a worse case of it than a missing finger, she only has three fingers. AOGG people, remember George Stowe? Her arms are exactly the same as his. I think it's so cool that she can still teach, even with her situation. She's really nice, I like her.

Lunch!!! By 5th hour my stomach is consistently, so Lunch is a beautiful thing. But oh my word, the main food line is sooo long!! And it was like a sauna! I'm so glad I'm not claustrophobic. Melissa and I only used it the first day. The other two days we just bought pizza/a sandwich from one of the smaller lines. They don't have as many choices, but it is a heck of a lot faster.

Health/Freshman Focus, 6th hour: This class is okay. Luckily I have some friends in it. We going to be taught various things about life, don't take drugs, don't procrastinate... etc.... fun stuff. The teacher's okay, too. I'm thinking that if she starts going into a rant, she'll really have a droning voice, though.

Spanish, 7th hour: We've finally reached the 7th hour class, after a weekend of me working on this darned post!! It's pretty fun. The teacher, Mrs. Alzaman (or Almazan, I can't remember) is pretty strict, but actually, once I think about it, she reminds me a lil of Mrs. Scranton. Not how she looks or anything, they look totally opposite, but how they talk and walk and move. Melissa's in this class, too, which is fun. But there's assigned seating so I can't sit by her.

Finally, the bus ride home, and rest.

So, I'm thinking that I'm going to be updating this every weekend, and I'll just write about my whole week. Unless there's something I want to shove in during the week.
I'm also going to try to schedule a specific time period for me to do this, so I won't procrastinate as much *guilty look*

Adios amigos!

Student Orientation

So, I said I'd update this blog with my highschool things... so here we go!

On the 28th PNHS had a freshman student orientation!

What basically happened was they took the freshmen in various small groups and toured the school. We were shown where different classrooms were going to be, where the cafeteria was, etc.
I'm not gonna remember any of that.
Anyway, luckily my fellow newly ex-homeschooled friend Melissa D is going to the same school, and I am so glad of that because she was the only one that I knew there. Everyone else already had there groups of friends from middle school, and Melissa and I were just kinda standing there, totally unknown by anybody. (Actually, Melissa does know a couple of other people there, but not well enough to go stay with them.)

And while all this was happening, the parents were in the auditorium doing a question & answer meeting. When the students were done with the tour, we went in the auditorium, and it all finished up at about 2.

Well... that's really all I've got to say! I have so much to do before school... and I am so exhausted! Hopefully I'll be able to get everything done then go to bed early..!

Rough Draft

These are some things I just jotted down a couple seconds ago. They will get tons of polishing, for sure.

Time

Tick. Tick. Tick. The clock continues its never-ending race around the world. Never stopping, never changing.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Startled by nothing, with no feelings for others. People are broken, set aflame. With no compassion, or moment of silence, the clock never stops.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Worlds may fall apart, but no matter how desperately people cry for more time, it is merciless.
Tick. Tick. Tick. It gives you one chance to live, one moment at a time. But no more than that. Time does not compromise.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Time does not reprimand, but lets your consequences roll out in front of you. It mocks you. Time is cruel.
Tick. Tick. Tick. Time only gives one chance. What are you doing with yours?

Inspiration

Oh, to be inspired.

To write a poem that grabs people minds.
And doesn’t let go for days.
With clever phrases and "thee"s and "thou"s
Which start a poetical craze.

Sun in summer or woes of winter.
Autumn’s red leaves or spring’s cheer.
Simple things are turned into wonders.
Turning words such as ball to sphere.

I wish I had that superpower.
Yes, how is it acquired?
All I’ve got is a silly old poem.
Whining ‘bout being inspired.

The beginning

Hello!
I've decided that this is where I'll write all the happenings in my life as a beginner in high school and all the twists and turns that come with it. I'm not sure how often I'll update this but I will fairly often, I'm sure.

I'm going to cut this short so I can personalize the rest of my layout.
